Off To A Great Start

Kicking off by cleaning up!

Our first project was a great success! All three of our founding members were present to help with fall cleanup in downtown Hillsboro. The weather was perfect and our team was just one part of the event, working alongside groups from Glencoe and Forest Grove High Schools.

It was great to get outside and be active! All of us have been suffering from cabin fever, as well as the uncertainty of how to contribute to community events during the pandemic. The organizers did a great job making this activity easy to distance, and several small groups formed to support each part of the overall job. Our team ended up working with power tools and generally sharing nerdy jokes and movie references–in short, a grand time was had by all.

Volunteer coordination for this event was done by SOLVE, which has a wealth of volunteer opportunities available all over Oregon.

“Dude, my hands are HUGE!”

We made some great contacts with the Downtown Hillsboro folks and are looking forward to working with them on future projects. There are always plenty of ways for us to do good in our community!
